The arduous learning at university is something that will accompany me throughout my life, but I have the impression that I still have many things to know that are necessary and that I have to contribute during my career.
In the first place, I believe that the study program should contemplate an integral development of the excursions, beyond the reduced summer practices, that is, a preparation focused on the daily life of work, in terms of the contact of the students with their companions and its environment, involving an interaction where students develop horizontally, allowing to improve the knowledge of both students and the forest community in general.
On the other hand, a large number of subjects deals with knowledge that comes from the observation of nature, so I feel that many theoretical subjects could be exchanged for a greater number of instances of practical experiences.
Another element to consider is that the time in the university is loaded with evaluations, and after so many works and tests developed under pressure, that people end up tired, without wanting to delve into the subjects, being able to show the contradiction of promoting learning and generate tension, which reduces the very possibility of learning. In this sense, changes could be made in the evaluation methods, mainly by changing the logic of imposing learning according to the established speeds, by new methods that include the evaluation of the correct and innovative use of information, and that encourage self learning, and the integration of curricular activities.
