POST 7: Changes to my Study Program

The arduous learning at university is something that will accompany me throughout my life, but I have the impression that I still have many things to know that are necessary and that I have to contribute during my career.

In the first place, I believe that the study program should contemplate an integral development of the excursions, beyond the reduced summer practices, that is, a preparation focused on the daily life of work, in terms of the contact of the students with their companions and its environment, involving an interaction where students develop horizontally, allowing to improve the knowledge of both students and the forest community in general.

On the other hand, a large number of subjects deals with knowledge that comes from the observation of nature, so I feel that many theoretical subjects could be exchanged for a greater number of instances of practical experiences.

Another element to consider is that the time in the university is loaded with evaluations, and after so many works and tests developed under pressure, that people end up tired, without wanting to delve into the subjects, being able to show the contradiction of promoting learning and generate tension, which reduces the very possibility of learning. In this sense, changes could be made in the evaluation methods, mainly by changing the logic of imposing learning according to the established speeds, by new methods that include the evaluation of the correct and innovative use of information, and that encourage self learning, and the integration of curricular activities.

POST 6: Time Travel to the Future

If it were true to make a time travel to the future, I would let myself go where human force was able to restore all the lost environment, and where humanity is deeply aware of its actions on the world.

I suppose that such a future would make me feel happy, because I could contemplate a society that guarantees a clean and safe atmosphere, and where all forms of natural life have a place within the world.

Although that lifestyle requires time, that is, it is possible in the long term, because it is necessary to fight for many paradigm shifts, which gives me hope for such a future, at least, for a century frome here.

But I wouldn't think of to get trapped in that possible future, because in our uncertain present, it's where the effort is required to work towards a desired and necessary future.

POST 5: My Future Job

I would like to have any type of job that is related to nature. I imagine a job on the land, in a field or in the middle of the forest, either cultivating plants, recovering degraded areas or managing forests.

All the jobs I want to have are activities that require being outdoors at some point. For this reason, I wouldn't stand working constantly in an office, because I think it would be like being locked in a kind of box, sitting at a desk with limited space, where looking out the window would be the only way to breathe fresh air and contemplate some nature.

And if I could find what I want, I wouldn't try to find a job that requires me to travel a lot, because for me, trips are the reason for fun and relax, which should be enjoyed.

Finally, I hope to develop a specialization in the area of conservation, because it would allow me to know deeply the treatments and techniques that are required to improve the conditions of ecosystems.

POST 4: A person I would like to meet

When thinking of a person I would like to meet, I must say that the truth is that no one comes to mind. However, while I listen to music, I think it may be musicians whom I might expect to meet.

Among the musicians I follow the most, Chico Buarque De Hollanda is someone I could never stop listening, and that could explain my desire to be able to meet him and try to accompany him in his songs. I will tell you a few things about who was Chico Buarque.

He is a renowned Brazilian musician, who has dedicated himself to composing popular songs in styles such as samba and bossa nova. His first album was published in 1966, and he has continued recording to this day, managing to have a total of more than 40 albums. In many of his albums he has performed songs in collaboration with great musicians such as Carlos Jobim, Ennio Morricone and Elis Regina.

But in addition, he has always been dedicated to writing poetry, which is characterized by delving into issues charged with reality, which have feelings of helplessness, poverty and love. Therefore, the result of his songs is the most admirable, because his creations are a perfect combination, where poetry is hidden in the atmosphere of his music.

In addition, this need to tell stories has led him to write novels with historical evocations, as a way of expressing his interpretation of current contexts. Novels which have been awarded with important literary prizes. His literary career has even led him to venture into drama and film productions.

The avantgarde of his music, his poetic and musical quality and the tension generated by his criticism of social themes, make it without doubt a unique phenomenon of contemporary Brazilian music.

POST 3: My Favorite Children Program

When I was a child and had free moments to dedicate to television, I watched a program called "Invasion". I used to tune in to that show after I got home from school, and spent the afternoon hours watching the different cartoons they aired.

My brother was the one with me and we sat down to enjoy those stories, adventures and other things that we found very entertaining for our childhood. I liked being able to watch that much animation gathered in the same program. They were series of Japanese animations that dealt with different types of topics.

Among the ones I remember the most are the sports genre series, such as "Slam Dunk", a basketball anime, where the protagonist is despicable at first, but ends up becoming a kind person and also a great player. I met many friends who, thanks to Slam Dunk, were motivated to enroll in the school's basketball workshop, without a doubt I also signed up.

Another anime that I remember enjoying is an action-adventure series called "Hunter X", where the protagonists are charismatic children who have to overcome different types of incidents and obstacles through violence, magic and instincts.

These are some of the series I enjoyed, although there are many other good series that were broadcast on the program "Invasion" which is also worth remembering as 'Detective Conan' or 'Ranma 1/2'.

POST 2: The Best Concert

When I think of concerts, I remember the times I have seen to "La Floripondio", Chilean band whose music have a difficult sound to pin down, but I think I understand that it is a mix between punk, ska, reggae and cumbia.

One unforgettable experiences was when I attended the presentation that they made in 2018, in a venue called Arena Recoleta. The event was an uproar, exactly how I like, with that convulsion that occurs while some dance, drink, sing or get lost in the middle of frenzy.

We were several friends, but Carlitos is who makes me remember that concert. Without realizing it, between the coming and going of the songs, him was losing everything.

At the end of the night, Carlitos had shirt broken, he had lost his cap and one of his shoes, and to top it all, when checked belt bag, he sadly verified that he had lost his documents, but he was not worried about it money that had also disappeared. In spite of all, we really had fun.

A country I would like to visit

Hello people! Today I will write why I would be interested in knowing the magical country of Colombia and to explore the various landscapes it hosts. The reason is because I like it to be a warm country, where caribbean forests, tropical jungles and eternal deserts are mixed. I like it, further, because could I communicate with the common people speaking spanish, without requiring me to learn from another language. I would also like to wander through its towns and suburbs, to know the cheerful songs that incite to dance, because it is known that it is the country of “the thousand rhythms”. I would enjoy spending time playing the tumbadoras or tamboras, confused in the cumbia, in guarachas and so many other rhythms. If I had the opportunity, I would like to live there in a wooden house on some jungle mountain, happily living in good music and cultivating coffee or chocolate.
