POST 4: A person I would like to meet

When thinking of a person I would like to meet, I must say that the truth is that no one comes to mind. However, while I listen to music, I think it may be musicians whom I might expect to meet.

Among the musicians I follow the most, Chico Buarque De Hollanda is someone I could never stop listening, and that could explain my desire to be able to meet him and try to accompany him in his songs. I will tell you a few things about who was Chico Buarque.

He is a renowned Brazilian musician, who has dedicated himself to composing popular songs in styles such as samba and bossa nova. His first album was published in 1966, and he has continued recording to this day, managing to have a total of more than 40 albums. In many of his albums he has performed songs in collaboration with great musicians such as Carlos Jobim, Ennio Morricone and Elis Regina.

But in addition, he has always been dedicated to writing poetry, which is characterized by delving into issues charged with reality, which have feelings of helplessness, poverty and love. Therefore, the result of his songs is the most admirable, because his creations are a perfect combination, where poetry is hidden in the atmosphere of his music.

In addition, this need to tell stories has led him to write novels with historical evocations, as a way of expressing his interpretation of current contexts. Novels which have been awarded with important literary prizes. His literary career has even led him to venture into drama and film productions.

The avantgarde of his music, his poetic and musical quality and the tension generated by his criticism of social themes, make it without doubt a unique phenomenon of contemporary Brazilian music.
